Mitsubishi Xpander at WAHDAH

If you’re looking to rent a Mitsubishi Xpander, Wahdah is the place to do it. With our extensive fleet of vehicles and flexible terms, we can help you find the perfect car at an affordable price.

The Mitsubishi Xpander 2020 is the perfect car for you if you’re looking for something that’s bold and futuristic, but also very balanced.

Close up review about Xpander.

1 – The Xpander has a bold, futuristic design that looks good both in front and rear views. It also has a ‘floating roof’ on its C -pillar, which gives it a unique look compared to other SUVs in its class.

2 – When you sit in the front or back seats, you’ll find that the suspension system is very well-tuned—it absorbs all the bumps in the road without feeling too hard or soft. That makes it a great choice for anyone who’s looking for an SUV with a modern look and comfortable ride!

3 – The Mitsubishi Xpanders interior is a little roomier than its competitors, and that means more space for passengers, luggage, and cargo. The seats in the second row are particularly spacious—even more so than in the third row. That means more legroom and headroom for those who sit there, which is a big plus on long trips.

4 – The seat cushions are also soft, so they won’t make your butt ache after hours of driving. Plus, they’re quilted with stitching that adds even more comfort!

5 – The Xpander is also the longest and widest car in its class. So, it has plenty of room inside without feeling cramped when you drive it around town or on a road trip!

6- The Mitsubishi Xpander has various spaces to store items. Among them are on the dashboard on the passenger side, driver side, centre console, back on the front seat (3 pockets) and on the door side. It even comes with extra storage under the front passenger seat.

Well, if you are interested in renting an xpander. You can go to our website at www.wahdah.my to book now.

Thailand – Malaysia Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) Starting 15 March 2022

Travellers from Malaysia and Thailand can now enjoy the Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) to fly in and out of their countries, starting 15 March 2022.

This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Wee Ka Siong a few days ago. The VTL applies only to flights between the two countries.

Malaysia will have Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL) on 15 March 2022 for flight routes only. Designated airlines from both countries will be allowed to mount up to six (6) flights daily on the Kuala Lumpur – Bangkok route and up to four (4) flights daily for the Kuala Lumpur – Phuket route. Additional routes may be added, subject to mutual agreement by both countries.

The minister also shared that the VTL is targeted at those who have received full vaccination against COVID-19, which means they have received two doses of the vaccine at least seven days prior to their departure date.

These VTL routes will be served by all countries’ designated carriers under the VTL initiative. Related standard operating procedures and health protocols will be released by the respective agencies soon. Travellers are expected to comply with health protocols responsibly in order to enjoy the VTL facility.

A guide to entry into Malaysia via VTL-Land & VTL-Air

The announcement of the expansion of the VTL (visit, travel, live) scheme for Singaporeans is a big deal. With this, it will be easier for Singaporeans to visit Johor Bahru, and even live there! Singaporeans can now head off to the shopping and foodie paradise of Johor Bahru without having to worry about travel restrictions so long as they have a valid VTL voucher. The scheme has been expanded, effective 20th December 2021, and is now the main transportation option for those looking to cross the causeway.

As you’ve already heard, Malaysia and Singapore VTL travel have two modes of transportation that you can choose from which are through land and air. Despite that, which one is more convenient and cost efficient remains a question for many of us.

That being said, let’s dive in and break down the process and cost between the two.

Among the SOPs are:

  • Only for fully vaccinated travelers.
  • No quarantine needed.
  • Undergo a Covid-19 test 48 hours before departure:
    a. RT-PCR test for VTL-Air travelers.
    b. RTK-Ag (professional) or RT-PCR test for VTL-Land travelers.
  • Undergo Covid-19 test on arrival:
    a. RT-PCR test in KLIA/ KLIA 2 for VTL-Air travelers.
    b. RTK-Ag (professional) test at Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru for VTL-Land travelers.
  • Additional Tests Required:
    a. RTK-Ag (professional) test on Day-3 and Day-5.
    b. RT-Ag self test on Day-2, Day-4 and Day-6 (results to be reported on the MySejahtera application)
  • The additional test also applies to Malaysian VTL travelers returning from Singapore.

Choose your mode of travel

VTL Land

For VTL land between Singapore and Malaysia, there’s only 2 available buses for you to choose from either Causeway Link or Transtar Travel. Each departure ticket from Singapore is priced at S$15 (+-RM47) for adults and S$8 (+- RM25) for children. It’s cheaper when you’re going to Singapore with each ticket price at RM20 (+-S$7) for adults and RM10 (+-S$3) for children.

Before the pandemic it was estimated more than 300,000 people cross the Malaysia–Singapore border everyday which makes it one of the busiest land border crossings in the world. Although the number was reduced to a mere 3000 people, and even lower to 1500 people recently, there are many who need to cross the border everyday.

This in turn makes the VTL bus ticket very popular and highly sought after by everyone. We advised you to book early if you choose to cross using the VTL land option.

VTL Air

For air travel, you can choose between six airlines that provide VTL Flights : Singapore Airlines, Scoot, AirAsia, Jetstar, Malaysia Airlines, and Malindo Air. Be sure to double check every detail that your flight you are booking is the designated VTL flight.

The ticket price (including return ticket) varies depending on how long your travel time and when your departure date. But the estimated cost is between S$747 – S$980 per adult person. So, it’s clear to say that VTL land by bus is better if you’re only looking to cross the border into Johor Bahru. But, if you are planning to spend your vacation at a place much farther away, go ahead and book the VTL flight.

Get Travel Insurance That Include COVID-19 Coverage

Both the Singapore and Malaysia governments agreed to make it compulsory for short term visitors to have an insurance policy which covers at least RM100,000 (S$32,200 to enter Malaysia and S$30,000 to enter Singapore) in the event they need treatment or quarantined due to COVID-19.

Download MySejahtera App for Use in Malaysia

MySejahtera has become as important as wearing a mask when you leave your house. It’s compulsory to use this app to enter most restaurants, malls, and public amenities that are available in Malaysia.

You can find and install the app thru App Store, Play Store and even HUAWEI Store.

IMPORTANT TIPS: Do not wait till the last minute to verify your vaccination status on the app. You’ll have to upload your vaccination cert and details, and it will take up to five working days for it to be processed. The process will look like this:

  1. Head over to your profile on the app
  2. Tap on “MySejahtera Helpdesk” (option N)
  3. Select “I have received my vaccination overseas and would like to obtain my digital certificate”
  4. Follow the instructions from there to fill in the necessary details and upload your vaccination cert

Travelers also have to register at Malaysia’s MySafeTravel portal, at least seven days before your flight. So, you need to prepare everything early (a week before) from your departure date to avoid any issues at the border checkpoint.

Arrival in Johor Bahru

Once you land in Johor Bahru, the first thing you’ll have to do is take an On-Arrival Test at Larkin Bus Terminal (VTL by land) or Senai International Airport if you choose the VTL flight. The test costs RM90 (~S$29.30) but includes 2 travel vouchers valid on bus rides within the state. Tourists can book the RTK-Ag Tests online, or they can do it at a nearby hospital or clinic.

Upon arrival, travelers will also have to take daily Covid-19 ART tests for a week. The ones on days three and seven will be done at a Combined or Quick Test Centre, while the other tests can be self-administered.

Cost breakdown for both VTL mode of transport

So, there are 7 things to consider in your travel budget when using VTL Singapore to Malaysia. (please refer to the image below)

Reopening of Langkawi and 5 Best Spots to Visit

On 9 September 2021, Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) proposed that fully vaccinated domestic tourists from all states would be allowed to travel to Langkawi under a pilot travel bubble program starting this 16 September.

Before you plan your trip to Langkawi, the following are the SOPs listed out by the Ministry of Tourism Arts, and Culture on 9 September:

  1. The travel bubble is only for fully vaccinated individuals who have received 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines.
  2. There is no age limit set for entry to Langkawi Island, however, individuals under the age of 18 must travel with a fully vaccinated guardian.
  3. This permission does not apply to those who are under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), also known as PKPD.
  4. Tourists have the option to go to Langkawi by land or via flight.
  5. For those coming in by land, tourists need to use the services of travel agencies.
  6. Meanwhile, for tourists who start their journey to Langkawi from Kedah and Perlis, as well as those who use the air route, they are not required to use the services of travel agencies.
  7. Tourists are encouraged to keep the proof of booking confirmations (e.g, receipts of hotel, flight, ferry, or travel package booking) when applying for permission with PDRM and when requested by SOP compliance agency enforcement.
  8. Covid-19 tests are mandatory 48 hours before departure.

*For detailed information on the SOP, please visit MOTAC and MKN websites.

With the reopening of Langkawi, we list out the top 5 places you can visit in Langkawi!

This square is a great spot to watch ferries come and leave from the harbour, especially early in the morning or late in the evening.

2. Enjoy a breathtaking ride to Langkawi Cable Car

Experience the mesmerizing view of Langkawi town, the island’s landscape, skyline, and seas beyond 2300 feet above sea level that will leave you spellbound. The cable car will take you all the way up to Mount Mat Cincang, Langkawi’s second-highest peak. There is an observatory deck filled with stalls selling souvenirs, snacks, toys, and drinks

4. Take a scenic boat tour of Kilim Geoforest Park

Kilim Geoforest Park is a nature park featuring mangrove forests, lagoons, and beaches with river tours and a floating restaurant. A variety of wildlife can be found in Kilim Geoforest Park such as macaques, monitor lizards, and tree crabs. In migratory seasons, you can see birdlife varying species including kingfishers, white-bellied fish eagles, and kite eagles.

5. Take a walk at Pantai Cenang
